Cadoxton Station was part of the Network Rail AFA scheme, a new footbridge was to be installed with lifts and stairs leading down to facilitate the 2 No. platforms. The existing subway was to be made redundant by the proposed scheme and was yo be infilled as part of a sperate project.


The proposed works at the station impacted existing station CCTV system in the main, with alterations to the CIS and PHP on Platform 2 also being required. A new IP CCTV surveillance system covering the existing station, Footbridge, stairs, lift cars and entrance and exit routes, as well as recovery of the existing analogue CCTV System are also required.


What We Did:

MRC Engineering were contracted to undertake the GRIP 5 Detailed Design for the stations SISS alterations in support of the AfA footbridge.


Project Overview:

  • GRIP 5 Detailed Design

  • Recovery of the existing CCTV system

  • Installation of a new IP CCTV system to provide compliant coverage for the existing camera locations, footbridge and station access & egress

  • Relocation of the existing Platform 2 NTI CIS  and re-cabled back to the existing platform CIS cabinet

  • Re-cabling of the existing Platform 2 PHP back to the new CC2 cabinet
